Born in Lubbock, Texas and raised in Willingboro, New Jersey, Austin McIntosh, affectionately known as “Diggy,” embodied the very spirit of STEAM: curiosity, creativity, and connection. As a NASA scholar and mathematics graduate, he demonstrated academic excellence, but it was his dedication to sharing knowledge that truly defined him. The Lou Zeisman All-American Award
Eligibility:
- Graduating High School Senior at Westover High School in Fayetteville, NC
- 15 hours of verifiable community service
$1500 for a student exemplifying leadership, good character, service, and compassion.
The Lou Zeisman All-American Award, established in 2026 as the inaugural scholarship of its kind, honors the extraordinary legacy of Lou Zeisman, a proud graduate of Westover High School, retired U.S. Army officer, and longtime resident of Fayetteville. Created by the All Things Are Possible Foundation, whose founders are combat veterans who served alongside him, this award reflects a deep respect for a leader who embodied excellence in uniform and in life. Lou Zeisman is a living legend.
COL (Ret) Zeisman’s military career was defined by high-impact leadership, including his service as an executive officer in U.S. Army Pacific, where he led complex operations and supported Soldiers in demanding environments. He earned the trust and admiration of those he led through both his professional expertise and his unwavering commitment to their well-being. His leadership philosophy was clear: true leaders take responsibility for people, especially in moments of uncertainty and sacrifice.
While his military accomplishments are significant, the heart of Lou Zeisman’s legacy is found in his devotion to family. In 2015, his wife, Missy Zeisman, suffered two life-threatening arterial breaks in her brain, beginning a long and difficult recovery. During this time, COL (Ret) Zeisman demonstrated profound courage and compassion as her advocate, caregiver, and constant source of strength. He stood beside her through surgeries, rehabilitation, and the challenging process of rebuilding her memory and mobility.
Their story is one of resilience, love, and unwavering commitment. It reflects the same values that defined his service as a Soldier: loyalty, selflessness, discipline, and an unbreakable sense of duty.
Awarded exclusively to students of Westover High School, the Lou Zeisman All-American Award recognizes graduating seniors who exemplify leadership, character, service, and compassion. More than a scholarship, it is a tribute to a living legacy and a call for the next generation to lead lives of purpose and impact.
